By no means a simple card here after secondsd glance. Several class climbers of good stature meet several good horses dropping. Should be interesting.

**Makaeba was SUPPOSED to be "chalk" . I expected "Lady St George to give me the value here. Makaeba's nice odds gave me a $5/20/30 bet. No exotics.

I couldn't lay off but I did play it light. Too tough a race to call. I had W/P on Art. Laid off Waples for reasons below.

Not sure who noticed this tonight but 2 things happened by about the 4th race.
1) Mohawk is characteristically a "closers " track. Closers could NOT close! UPFRONT runners were dominant and it was evident after 2 races.
2) There was something WRONG with the 1/2/3 holes tonight. Coming down the stretch on 3 occasions, the inside horses looked like they "slipped".
Because of this I backed off some inside horses who I thought should be there.
